India Squad:
Virat Kohli (Captain) – For India he is the King of the Ring. Our captain has been running on all cylinders and has performed in each format. We will surely look forward to him bringing in all his form in the world cup.
Rohit Sharma (Vice Captain) – Our VC is termed as “Hitman”. Having scored a double hundred more than once in the 50 over format, Sharma ji ka ladka is very dangerous when he gets going. India will be hoping for another 200 from him!
Shikhar Dhawan – Our very own Gabbar is a fierce left handed opener who starts hammering from the first over. India will hope for such fierce bursts from him.
KL Rahul – With such an amazing performance in the IPL, Rahul has cemented the spot that India was worried about i.e. the No.4 spot. Rahul is good as an opener and knows how to pace his innings.
Vijay Shankar – Another IPL find this year, Vijay Shankar has been a very good find. He is instrumental in batting, bowling and also in fielding. We will rely on the young boy to deliver in this important tournament.
MS Dhoni (wicket keeper) – Our very own Mr.CRICKET is an encyclopedia of information. As per our captain Kohli, Dhoni knows everything from Ball no.1 to Ball no. 300. He is one of the few cricketers who has game presence and knows how to absorb pressure well.
Kedar Jadhav – One of the extras chosen for this tournament, Jadhav will be utilized as per the pitches in England. His performance has been average and we expect him to be given a few opportunities only.
Dinesh Karthik – One of the best wicket keepers after MS Dhoni, Karthik played a good captain’s role in the IPL and proved to everyone how valuable he is for the country! Let’s hope to see some magic.
Hardik Pandya – IPL has been instrumental in unlocking the true potential of our hitter Pandya. He has been good with the bat, ball and also saved lot of runs via fielding. He will surely be important for us.
Ravindra Jadeja – Our spinner Jadeja bowls so quickly which can help us finish our quota of overs within the over rate. Jadeja does gets some runs to with the bat and is one of the best fielders we have.
Y.Chahal – Our most successful spinner, Chahal has been very good across all formats with the ball. Whether it was IPL or any other format, he has worked well and saved India many times.
Kuldeep Yadav – Our accidental chinaman bowler is another addition we have made just for occasions when we can use his experience to rattle the opposition. Yadav is very good with pitches that favor spin.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar – Perhaps he is our most experienced bowler and will be Kohli’s go to man when times are tough. Kumar has been very costly but also brings in experience which is very much required in the world cup.
Jasprit Bumrah – Our best bowler this time is Bumrah. Whether it was the test series in Australia or the ODI series or even IPL, Bumrah strikes every time. His Yorker length and discipline makes him dangerous.
Mohammed Shami – After Kumar, Shami is our next experienced bowler. He has been mildly successful in test cricket but has been running amazingly well in IPL. India will wish for him to strike more often.
